Pope Francis Changes Throne for a White Chair.

According to a recent article, the pope has adopted a white chair instead of a throne and this chair is not elevated on some platform either. This seems admirable, but if this is such a good thing then why isn’t this the standard for all popes? Either it was humble of this pope to do this and all other popes were a bit “high and mighty” or it’s not humble at all and in fact contrary to the tradition of the catholic church. Or perhaps one can define humility as simply a lowering of one’s status but that it is proper for a pope to indulge in that status if he so chooses. I’m not saying it’s necessarily an evil thing, I’m just questioning whether this is remarkable and that kind of response just shows that it isn’t.
